My daughter Irene invited me to be a part of her art blog. I consider it an honor to do so. A very brief description of me:
I’ve been around here for 77 years. I have three major loves of my life, my children, science, and spirituality. Before retirement I worked as a rocket chemist, an organic chemist, a biochemist, and a clinical chemist. I plan to draw from my life experiences and observations to give you little tidbits of information I have encountered, that you may wish to reflect on as an artist. – Jerry
My First Tidbit:
“Why not put yourself first, maybe for the first time in your life? You can relearn how to love yourself unconditionally. And you can start by projecting unconditional love for the authentic you. Then practice loving your authentic self more and more. You no longer sacrifice yourself for anyone. If you practice self-love you will master self-love.”
“And when we go beyond symbols [words], the power that we find is incredible because it’s the power of the artistic creator, the power of life, the real us.” — Don Miguel Ruiz and Don Jose Ruiz in their book, The Fifth Agreement.

Dear Dad, I am very fortunate to have you as my dad. I am grateful for you telling us to love ourselves. Without such loving parents it would be hard to be an artist. Thank you for putting us five kids first and telling us to love ourselves. Irene
